On Sunday the 3rd of August my wife and I took part in the Dovedale Dipper Ramble, and I must say it was one of the best walks we have done it was so well marked that we did not have to look at the map or the directions that much, and at every checkpoint we was greeted with smiling faces and made most welcome, and when we finished we had a nice jacket potatoes and fruit salad. A very big thank you must go out to the organizers and all the helpers who worked so hard, it is easy for us to turn up and enjoy the walks and countryside but this is not possible with out people who put themselfs out to make the day such a success. Once again thank you very much and will be back next year to do it again yours Frank and Jackie Grant
Please could you pass on our thanks to EVERYONE for a well organised event again. Your event is a great credit to the Rotary club and something that you should all be very proud of.
A big thank you for all the geneous support your checkpoint marshals gave to my Italain friend. Even though he spoke little English he managed to ask me if we had any more hills left after checkpoint 6? I think he will remember Dovedale for some time!
Thanks again and until next year.

Editors comment - Did he really want more hills!!!
Hi I just wanted to say 'thanks' to you and the team for a fabulous event on Sunday. The course was wonderful and took me on paths that I didn't know existed - the views were pretty spectacular all the way around and the area surprisingly quiet, given how crowded the Peak District can be. The paths were also superb for running on - with some brilliant grassy tracks. We also really appreciated the friendly and welcoming check points and the great atmosphere at the start and finish. We will definitely register for next year. Best wishes Laraine Porter
Once again congratulations on a well run Dipper. As usual the teams at the checkpoints and in the hall were well organised and very friendly. Not sure what your overall numbers were relative to previous events but it felt busier and certainly the quality of the field at the sharp end in the run seems to have improved, I ran about half an hour quicker than last year but ended up further down the field.
Not sure it if it really matters but for the record I reckon I was 7th not 8th as there was no one just in front of me but I did pass someone on the final run in back down into Hartington and I can't believe I made 6 minutes in the last 400 yards. As I say its no big deal and it probably wont make a difference bewteen qualifying for the olympics or not !
Once again many thanks for a splendid event and look forward to seeing you again next year all being well.

May I thank you and your team for a wonderful day doing the Dipper Ramble. The organisation, routefinding, checkpoints to say nothing of the 'canteen' team are second to none
You all work so hard I hope you are rewarded with a good result for the charity Ann Robinson South Manchester LDWA
Once again many thanks to you and your team for all your hard work in organising and marshalling the event. As an organiser myself I know how much you put into making the event a success.
I hope you on't be offended if I make a suggestion. You have two categories over the full distance, one for walkers and one for runners, with two sets of awards.
However, in the walkers section many are running for long stretches and the winners clearly haven't walked the course. To walk the course at 5mph is not possible, believe me, I have been a race walker for more than 50 years and indeed achieved International Standard. Obviouslyy it is impossible to stop walkers running but they are certainly not entitled to an award. That is just fraud.
May I suggest that only one set of awards are given and that the fastest receive them whether they run or run and walk. That way you would have an honest result.
Your event is a tremendous success and I make my comments in a constructive manner.
Thank you again.
Christopher Bolton.
I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved for a wonderful day. The event was perfectly organised, with the check points manned by friendly and supportive people.
Thank you to you all
Jackie
Many thanks for an extremely enjoyable and well organised event. I actually more or less enjoyed myself - lovely scenery and good company on the way round really helped.
This was my first attempt at the Dipper and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The organisation and support for the walkers/runners at all the C.Ps was excellent. I hadn't planned to jog at any point but got carried along and jogged some of the downhill bits and exceeded my expectations.
One teeny weeny gripe!!! How did Dave Sheldon (117) get to come in before me (118)?? The listing on the Matlock Rotary website records it in the opposite, and correct, order.
Thanks for a truly excellent day, including the weather. Look forward to seeing you again next year, all being well. Best wishes,
Roger
P.S. I was looking on your website (past reports, etc) in advance of the day. You may be interested to know that when the route is carefully entered into Anquet (50,000 series map software) it gives the length as between 26.3 and 26.5 miles and the toal ascent as over 4,800 feet (4845')
Hi guys
Its me the birthday boy again. I really enjoyed the day ,the course and the organiseation were great a definate for next year , and thanks again for the donation for cancer research. I forgot my certificate ( plonker) perhaps I was thinking you had given me to much already.

May I also take this opportunity to thank you for such a well organised event within beautiful surroundings. All four of us had a wonderful day whilst finding the walk challenging, but rewarding. We really appreciated the time and the effort that you and your team had put in to ensure that the day was a success for a lot of people.
We have already pencilled this into our calendar for next year and will see you again then,
Regards Tim
I must commend you at Matlock Rotary Club on your "enthusiastic helpers". At every checkpoint we were welcomed by friendly marshals. Even before we had started the encouragement towards competitors was enjoyable. The talking after "the walk" was endless. The route once again was fantastic , I wanted it to take me ten hours as I enjoyed it so much.
Thanks once again for all you efforts. The Three Amigos!!
Hello Dovedale Dipper Team. Many thanks to all for a wonderful event. It was my first one, and I'll be back next year. A challenging route; excellent scenary and route description; friendly, efficient people. Thanks to everyone for giving me a very enjoyable day. The six checkpoints were very welcome. The tea and biscuits at the start and the food at the finish were very much appreciated. It wouldn't be possible without the Dovedale Dipper Team though. Many thanks to all of you. Regards; Phill.
Many thanks! We'll be there next year! A brilliant event - superb organisation. THANK YOU. Thanks very much for this.
It was an excellent day - with superb organization as usual!
See you next year I hope
Regards
Bridget
Thanks for a wonderful event and congratulations to all involved.
It was my first off road event and what an introduction, a really pleasant change from all that tarmac. I'm hooked!
Hope to see you next year.

Many thanks for this, both Laraine and I thoroughly enjoyed participating and thanks to all the helpers who made this such a warm and friendly event. We will definitely do it next year and tell all our club members about it too.
If you could forward me the certificate that would be great,
