The Inner Wheel Club of Matlock is an organisation for the wives, widows, partners and other relatives of Rotarians,together with female Rotarians and past Rotaract members. Sisters, mothers and daughters of Inner Wheel members are also eligible. The objects of Inner Wheel are to promote true friendship, to encourage the ideals of personal service and to foster international understanding.
Matlock Club is part of District 22 of the Association of IW Clubs of GB&I lead by President Pam Byford. We in GB& I are part of the International Inner Wheel. The IIW President this year is Anne Fryer of GB & Ireland, her theme for 2009/10 is "Help Bring Hope".
The Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month and through these meetings organizes outside visits to theatres, a Walking Group, Book Group etc. Visits in this year include The National Arboretum and several members will attend a conference in Bournemouth.
The Club is engaged in fund raising activities and support for local, national and international charities. The Club further supports Matlock Rotary Club in their various charity projects and the members enjoy social gatherings with Rotary.
